The Bible is the "GREATEST READ" of all books!  It is a book containing 66 smaller books, inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16-17), and penned by 40 different authors over time.  The Bible is divided into two testaments:   Old Testament (O.T.) and New Testament (N.T.).

  • The O.T. is made up of 39 books and is divided into 5 categories.  The overall theme of the O.T. can be summed up by the phrase, "SOMEBODY'S COMING!"

    • 5 books of Law:  Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy

  • The N.T. is made up of 27 books and is divided into 4 categories.  The overall theme of the first 4 books of the N.T. (the Gospels) can be summed up by the phrase, "SOMEBODY'S HERE!" and the rest of the N.T., "SOMEBODY'S COMING BACK!"

    • 4 Gospels:  Matthew, Mark, Luke, John

    • 1 book of History:  Acts

    • 21 books in the form of love letters to churches and/or individuals:  Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews, James, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, 1 John, 2 John, Jude
